Cheese Toast
Getting the kids a wholesome breakfast is important. Cheese toast allows you to include protiens, calcium and carbs, all in one meal!
Ingredients:
1 egg
2 slices of bread (or sesame seed buns)
1 tsp whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 tbsp oil for frying
Salt (optional)
Method:
In a bowl, beat the egg and add the shredded cheese. Mix. Add the flour and baking powder. Mix. The batter should be thick enough to stay on the bread. If the batter feels too runny, add more flour. Apply batter on one side of the bread. Heat oil in pan. Carefully, place the bread upside down (the batter part of the bread facing the oil). Fry on medium heat for a few
minutes. Turn bread and fry the base for about a minute. Serve hot!
